Dark Days

Dark Days is a documentary portraying the lives of a group of homeless people living in New York City’s abandoned underground tunnels.

It’s hard to believe that it was Marc Singer’s first movie, shot with partially damaged film donated by Kodak when he run out of money and rigged up makeshift lighting and steadicam dollies made by the subjects who doubled as the film’s crew.

It’s a superb movie in any aspect but being shot in 16mm B&W film, adds a more photographic (than cinematographic) quality to it.
